Connect Qonto to invoice from your bank
Issue your deposit and balance invoices on your Qonto account, straight from the proposal, and track their payment with no manual entry.
Updated
With Qonto connected, your deposit and balance invoices are issued on your Qonto account, straight from the proposal. The invoice is created in Qonto with your own numbering, in Factur-X format. The client receives it with the IBAN of the collecting account and can also pay by card on the Qonto page. The proposal turns to paid as soon as Qonto sees the payment.
What you will learn
- Connect your Qonto organization.
- Choose the collecting account, venue by venue.
- Invoice a proposal through Qonto.
- Know the limits specific to Qonto.
Before you start
- Be an owner of the Joinways workspace. An admin cannot connect Qonto.
- A Qonto login with owner or admin rights on the organization, needed to read the accounts' IBAN.
- A workspace on the Pro plan or in its trial: invoicing starts from a proposal.
Connect Qonto
- Open "Settings" > "Integrations", "Invoicing" tab.
- Click the "Qonto" card. The "Connect Qonto" window sums up the three steps.
- Click "Continue to Qonto", sign in and pick the organization to connect.
- Accept every permission requested: reading your accounts and managing your invoices, nothing else.
- You come straight back to Joinways. The card shows "Active".
Connection tokens are stored encrypted and never shown.
Set up the accounts
Click the card's gear to open "Qonto settings".
- "Bank accounts" lists the accounts read from Qonto. "Refresh" reads them again after a change in Qonto.
- "Account that collects by default" is used for every venue without its own account.
- "Account per venue" assigns a different account to a venue, for instance one account per property.
Stripe and Qonto together
If Stripe is also connected, "Default invoicing channel" sets what is preselected in the "Invoice" dialog: Qonto, Stripe, or "Ask every time". You can still change it proposal by proposal. The balance always follows the deposit's channel.
Invoice a proposal through Qonto
- On an accepted or signed proposal, click "Invoice".
- Under "Issue via", pick Qonto. "Collecting account" shows the IBAN that will appear on the invoice.
- Issue the deposit, then the balance when the time comes. The balance will be issued on Qonto, like the deposit.
Each issued invoice carries a "View on Qonto" link. Payment tracking is automatic: no need to mark the invoice paid by hand.
Limits to know
- Qonto refuses lines with a negative amount. Remove the line discount or issue that invoice through Stripe.
- For a company client, Qonto requires the SIREN or SIRET. Fill it in the client details before invoicing.
- Voiding an invoice cancels it on Qonto: it stays in your series as canceled. A paid invoice needs a credit note in Qonto.
Troubleshooting
"Authorization expired or revoked, reconnect Qonto"
Cause: access was withdrawn in Qonto or could not be renewed. Fix: click the card and reconnect Qonto with the same login.
"Only a workspace owner can connect Qonto."
Cause: you are an admin or a member. Fix: ask an owner to connect it.
The account's IBAN could not be read
Cause: the Qonto login used for the connection lacks owner or admin rights. Fix: reconnect Qonto with a login that has them.
Real-time updates could not be enabled
Cause: Qonto refused the subscription to payment notifications. Everything else works. Fix: it is retried on the next reconnect.
