Accounting integration
Coming soon

Your venue invoices into QuickBooks, soon

The QuickBooks connection is not open yet. It is being built on the accounting foundation already live with Pennylane: invoices finalised in Joinways pushed to the books as they are issued, client and attachment included.

Not connectable yet

QuickBooks appears in the invoicing tab of your integration settings, marked coming soon. Nothing to set up today.

Pennylane works today

The automatic push of finalised invoices and credit notes to accounting already runs with Pennylane. QuickBooks will follow the same path.

Invoicing does not wait

Quotes, signatures and invoices work now, on your Stripe account. Only the automatic hand-off to QuickBooks is pending.

What the QuickBooks integration will do

The gap between billing a venue and keeping its books is a monthly export. That is the gap this connection closes.

Invoices pushed as they are issued

Every finalised invoice will reach QuickBooks with its amounts, its client and its PDF, without an end-of-month export.

Credit notes on the same path

A cancellation produces a credit note, and the credit note follows the invoice it corrects, so the ledger stays coherent.

A sync you can check

Documents synced, pending and in error will be visible in your settings, so nothing fails quietly between the two tools.

What the QuickBooks connection will send

  • Finalised invoices, with their amounts and their PDF attachment
  • Finalised credit notes, on the same path as the invoices
  • Client records, matched or created in QuickBooks
  • Sync statuses: synced, pending, in error
  • Nothing else: drafts and quotes do not reach the books

What it will change, day to day

The month-end that stops being an export

At closing, everything is already in QuickBooks: invoices, credit notes, attachments. Nobody exported a CSV or attached PDFs one at a time.

The credit note that stops getting lost

A partial cancellation generates a credit note, and it reaches the books with the invoice it corrects. The accountant sees both, and the file holds together.

Why connect your venue billing to QuickBooks?

A venue that invoices from its event tool and keeps its books in QuickBooks bridges the two by hand: monthly exports, PDFs attached one by one, clients typed twice. It works until the month someone forgets, and the missing invoice surfaces at closing.

The accounting connection makes that bridge automatic. Invoices and credit notes finalised in Joinways are pushed as they are issued, complete with client and attachment. This already runs with Pennylane; QuickBooks is built on the same foundation.

And in the meantime?

Invoices are still issued from the signed quote, on your Stripe account, and exported to your accountant the way you do it today.

If your books are in Pennylane, the automatic push exists now and needs nothing more than an API token.

QuickBooks integration, common questions

Can I connect QuickBooks to Joinways today?

Not yet. QuickBooks is listed in the invoicing tab of your integration settings and marked coming soon. Pennylane is the accounting tool connectable today.

What will be sent to QuickBooks?

Finalised invoices and credit notes, with their amounts, their client record and their PDF attachment. Drafts will not be sent.

Can I still invoice without it?

Yes. Invoices are prepared from the signed quote and billed on your Stripe account. The QuickBooks connection only removes the hand-off to your books.

Will my clients be duplicated in QuickBooks?

No. As with the Pennylane connection, the client attached to the invoice will be matched or created, so the books stay aligned with your CRM.

When will it be available?

No date is announced. Tell us your books are in QuickBooks through the contact form and we will let you know as soon as the connection opens.

Does my accountant need a Joinways account?

No. They will keep working in QuickBooks, which will simply receive the documents on time, with their attachments.

And Xero?

Xero is on the same track: listed in the invoicing tab, coming soon, and built on the same accounting foundation.
