Mews availability, on the event you are quoting
An overnight retreat inquiry arrives. The rooms free for the whole stay, and their rates, appear on the event record. You answer without opening the PMS, and nothing is written back to Mews.
Rooms for the whole stay
Each category shows what is free on every night of the stay, and so how many rooms you can actually sell for all of it.
Read-only by design
Joinways reads Mews and never writes to it. No block pushed, no reservation created, nothing changed in your PMS.
Nothing copied on our side
Availability is fetched for the event dates and displayed. We keep no copy of your inventory, and your token is stored encrypted.
What the Mews integration does
A residential inquiry always raises the same question: do we have the rooms, and at what price. Joinways shows the answer on the event record.
Availability on the event record
Open the event and click Check availability in the Accommodation block: room categories, rooms free per night, and rooms sellable for the entire stay.
Rates alongside availability
Choose the Mews rate prices are read from. Each category shows its nightly price and the total for the stay, in the property currency.
A token you control
The access token is generated in the Mews Connector API and stored encrypted. When you connect, you can limit it to one venue of your workspace.

Before you start
- You are the owner or an admin of the Joinways workspace. Other roles cannot connect Mews.
- In Mews, you can add Joinways under Settings, Integrations, Connector API, and copy the access token it generates.
- Your Mews property has an active bookable accommodation service and a timezone set. Joinways checks both before saving.
- To show prices, the property has a rate you want proposals to use. Without one, availability shows alone.
What Joinways reads from Mews
- Your room categories, with their names and capacities
- The rooms free for each night of the stay
- The number of rooms sellable for the whole stay, category by category
- Nightly prices and stay totals, from the rate you selected
- The property timezone and currency, so nights and amounts line up
- Nothing in the other direction: Joinways writes nothing into Mews
Security and access
- The Mews access token is encrypted before it is stored, never shown again and never sent to the browser.
- Only the workspace owner and admins can connect Mews, change the rate used for prices or disconnect it.
- Every member can check availability on their workspace's events without ever seeing the token.
- Joinways only calls Mews read operations: property settings, services, room categories, availability, rates and prices.
- If Mews rejects the token, Joinways switches the connection off and asks you to reconnect.
- Disconnecting deletes the connection and the encrypted token. Remove the Joinways integration in Mews too if you no longer need it.
What it does not do
- It creates no reservation, room block or rate change in Mews.
- It does not refresh by itself: availability is read when someone clicks Check availability or Refresh.
- One lookup covers a stay of up to 90 nights.
- Prices come from one Mews rate at a time. Other rates are not compared.
- The settings screen manages one Mews connection at a time.
How to connect Mews to Joinways
The connection uses a Mews Connector API access token that you generate in Mews. Setting it up is reserved to the workspace owner and admins.

Generate a token in Mews
In Mews, go to Settings, then Integrations, then Connector API, and add Joinways as an integration to obtain an access token.

Paste it into Joinways
As the owner or an admin, go to Settings, Integrations, PMS, then Mews, and paste the token. It is stored encrypted and never shown again.

Limit it to a venue if needed
When you connect, you can attach the connection to one venue of your workspace. The settings screen manages one Mews connection at a time.

Pick the rate used for prices
Open the settings and choose the rate prices should come from. Until one is chosen, availability shows without prices.

The overnight retreat inquiry
Forty people, two nights in March. The Accommodation block says how many rooms are free on each of those nights and what the stay costs. You can answer within a minute of the inquiry arriving.
The date that looks free but is not
The function room is available, the guest rooms are not. You see it before promising anything and can offer the following week right away.
The group rate, quoted right
Pick the rate you sell groups at in the Mews settings. Each room category then shows its nightly price and the stay total, in the property currency, next to availability.
Why connect your PMS to your event venue software?
Hotels that sell meetings and events run two systems that never speak to each other: the PMS holds the rooms, the event tool holds the inquiry. Answering "can you take forty people with twenty-five rooms in March?" then costs two people, two screens and a delay the client feels.
Connecting Mews puts the room answer on the event record. Whoever handles the inquiry sees what is free for the whole stay and at what rate, without leaving the record and without a request to the front office. Mews remains the source of truth for the rooms; Joinways reads it at the exact moment the question is asked.
And without the Mews integration?
The event side and the room side stay apart: someone opens the PMS, screenshots the availability, pastes it into a message, and the figure is already stale when the client reads it.
Worse, the proposal can go out with rooms that sold in the meantime, and it is the client who ends up receiving the correction.
