Amenitiz: free rooms for the stay, on the event record

When a group needs rooms, the event record shows which ones are free for the whole stay and at what price. Joinways reads Amenitiz without writing anything back, and Amenitiz remains the source of truth.

Read, never write

Joinways queries Amenitiz and shows the result. Reservations, rates, and availability are changed in Amenitiz only.

A credential that only reads

You create a Joinways API credential in Amenitiz and tick what it can read. The client ID and secret are stored encrypted and never shown again.

Read when you click

Availability for the event dates is read when you click and then displayed. We keep no copy of your inventory.

What the Amenitiz integration does

An inquiry for an overnight offsite covers both the meeting space and the guest rooms. The guest rooms are managed in Amenitiz, and the connection shows them on the event record.

Prices from an Amenitiz rate plan

Nightly prices and the stay total are read from the rate plan chosen in the settings, at the lowest occupancy Amenitiz quotes, in the property's currency.

Rooms free for the whole stay

The event's Accommodation block lists each room type, with the rooms free on every night and the number that can be sold for the whole stay.

The right property, the right venue

If your Amenitiz credential covers several properties, Joinways asks which one to connect. The connection covers the whole workspace or a single Joinways venue.

Before you start

  • You are the owner or an admin of the Joinways workspace. Other roles cannot connect Amenitiz.
  • Your Amenitiz account is on the Advanced plan, the plan that gives access to API credentials.
  • The Amenitiz account owner creates the credential. Other members of the Amenitiz team cannot.
  • The property has at least one room type. Joinways checks this before saving.
  • To show prices, the property needs a rate plan you want proposals to use. Until one is chosen, availability shows on its own.

What moves between Joinways and Amenitiz

  • Room types, with names and capacities
  • Rooms free on each night of the stay
  • Rooms sellable for the whole stay, room type by room type
  • Nightly prices and stay totals from the selected rate plan
  • Property name and currency
  • Nothing in the other direction: read-only by design

Security and access

  • The client ID and secret are checked against Amenitiz, encrypted before storage, and never shown again.
  • Only the workspace owner and admins can connect Amenitiz, change the rate plan used for prices, or disconnect it.
  • Every member can check availability on the events of their workspace, without ever seeing the credentials.
  • Joinways needs three read accesses only: room types, rates, and availability. Reservations, invoices, and settings can stay unticked.
  • If the credential is missing an access, Joinways flags it when you connect and lists the ones to tick.
  • The credential can be revoked at any time in Amenitiz, without going through Joinways.

What it does not do

  • It creates no reservation and changes no rate or availability in Amenitiz.
  • It does not refresh by itself: availability is read when someone clicks Check availability or Refresh. One lookup covers a stay of up to 90 nights.
  • Prices come from one rate plan at a time, at the lowest occupancy Amenitiz quotes.
  • The settings screen manages one Amenitiz connection at a time. If Mews or Apaleo is also connected, the event record shows that one.
  • The Amenitiz API is in beta at Amenitiz: its access and content may change on their side.

Connect Amenitiz to Joinways

The connection uses an API credential that the Amenitiz account owner creates in their settings, on the Advanced plan. In Joinways, only the workspace owner and admins can set it up.

  1. 1

    Create the credential in Amenitiz

In Amenitiz, as the account owner, open Settings, API credentials, then New credential. Name it Joinways, tick at least room types, rates, and availability, then copy the client ID and secret.

  2. 2

    Paste them into Joinways

As the owner or an admin, go to Settings, Integrations, PMS, then Amenitiz, and paste the client ID and secret. They are checked against Amenitiz, stored encrypted, and never shown again.

  3. 3

Pick the property and, if needed, a venue

If the credential covers several properties, Joinways asks which one to connect. You can also limit the connection to one venue of your workspace.

  4. 4

    Check the rate plan

Open the Amenitiz settings in Joinways and check which rate plan prices come from. The plan covering the most room types is preselected; change it if you sell to groups on another plan.

Amenitiz, day to day

The overnight offsite answered on one screen

A company brings its leadership team together for two days in June and needs twelve rooms. The Accommodation block shows how many are still free on both nights and the total price, while you quote the meeting room.

The group with two inns

An inquiry comes in for the Asheville venue. The connection is limited to that venue and reads the Asheville property, so nobody quotes the other inn's rooms by mistake.

The group rate plan

If you sell groups on their own rate plan, select it in the Amenitiz settings in Joinways. Each room type then shows its nightly price and the stay total next to the availability.

Frequently asked questions

Why connect Amenitiz to Joinways?

Amenitiz brings together the PMS, website, booking engine, and channel manager of many independent hotels and B&Bs. On the Advanced plan, it opens a read API to other tools.

Joinways is one of those tools, for the event side. When an inquiry for a two-day offsite with fifteen rooms arrives, the person answering needs the room picture at that moment. One click on Check availability reads it from Amenitiz and shows it in the Accommodation block of the event record.

And without the Amenitiz integration?

Someone opens Amenitiz, looks up the free rooms, and pastes the answer into the reply. It works, but it is slower, and the number is often out of date by the time the client reads it.

Everything else in Joinways runs regardless of your PMS: inquiries, proposals, contracts, BEOs, and meeting-space scheduling.

Does Joinways create reservations in Amenitiz?

No. The connection is read-only. Availability and prices are read and displayed; no reservation, rate, or availability is created or changed in Amenitiz.

Can I connect Amenitiz to Joinways today?

Yes, on the Amenitiz Advanced plan. The Amenitiz account owner creates an API credential, then the Joinways workspace owner or an admin pastes it in Settings, Integrations, PMS, then Amenitiz. It takes a few minutes.

Do we need an agreement or partnership with Amenitiz?

No. The API credential is self-service in the Amenitiz settings, created by the account owner. Nothing needs to be requested from Amenitiz.

Show 5 more questions

Which Amenitiz data is read?

Room types with names and capacities, rate plans, availability per night, and prices from the chosen plan. Reservations, invoices, and guest data are not read.

What if we run several properties on Amenitiz?

Joinways asks which one to connect. The connection can be limited to one Joinways venue, so its events read the property they take place in. The settings screen manages one Amenitiz connection at a time.

Is our inventory copied into Joinways?

No. Availability is read for the dates of the event when someone clicks Check availability, then displayed. Nothing is stored in our database.

How does Joinways keep our Amenitiz credentials?

The client ID and secret are checked against Amenitiz, then stored encrypted. They are never shown again. Other workspace members see availability on events without ever seeing the credentials.

Which other PMS connect to Joinways?

Mews and Apaleo connect too and feed the same Accommodation block. Cloudbeds is coming soon. With any other PMS, the two tools run side by side.
