PMS integration
OPERA Cloud: your guest rooms next to your meeting space
The OPERA Cloud connection is not open yet. It will go through Oracle's integration platform (OHIP) and show room-type availability and rates from OPERA on the event record, without writing anything back.
Through Oracle's own integration platform
Joinways will connect through OHIP, the platform Oracle provides for OPERA Cloud integrations. Access is approved by the hotel or the chain in OHIP, and no OPERA user password is ever shared.
Opening with the first hotels
The connection is being set up hotel by hotel. If your hotel runs OPERA Cloud, tell us and we will set it up with you when it opens.
The same block as Mews, Apaleo, and Amenitiz
Mews, Apaleo, and Amenitiz already feed the Accommodation block of the event record. OPERA Cloud will fill the same block: room types, nights, rooms you can sell for the whole stay, and prices.
What the OPERA Cloud integration will do
When a hotel sells its rooms in OPERA Cloud and its meetings and events through Joinways, a group inquiry involves both. The connection will show the rooms on the event record.
Rates from the plan you choose
Nightly prices and the stay total will be read from one OPERA rate plan, usually your BAR. When OPERA returns prices before tax, they are marked as such, so the figure you quote is never mislabeled.
Room types and nightly availability
The event record will list each OPERA room type, with the rooms free on every night of the stay and the number you can sell for the whole stay. Overbooking allowances are not counted.
One hotel, one connection
An OPERA Cloud environment can hold a whole chain. Each connection reads one hotel code and is attached to one Joinways venue.

What will move between Joinways and OPERA Cloud
- Room types, with names and capacities
- Rooms free on each night of the stay
- Rooms you can sell for the whole stay, type by type
- Nightly prices and stay totals, from the rate plan you choose
- Hotel time zone and currency
- Nothing written back: read-only by design
What it does not do today
- Not connectable yet: the connection opens hotel by hotel.
- Joinways reads nothing from OPERA today. Room availability is still checked in OPERA directly.
- When it opens, it will not write to OPERA: no reservation, no block, no rate or inventory change.
- OPERA 5 installed on the hotel's own servers is not covered. Mews, Apaleo, and Amenitiz are the property systems you can connect today.
What OPERA Cloud will change day to day
The conference hotel quoting a three-day meeting
Forty rooms, Tuesday to Friday, plus the ballroom and four breakouts. Once connected, the Accommodation block will show how many rooms of each type are free on every night and the stay total, while the meeting space is being quoted.
The resort answering a wedding inquiry
Sixty guests over a long weekend. Availability per room type will be read when you answer, so the proposal will not promise suites already sold.
Until the connection opens
The inquiry, the proposal, and the follow-up already run in Joinways. Room availability is checked in OPERA and added to your reply by hand.
Frequently asked questions
Why connect OPERA Cloud to Joinways?
OPERA Cloud is Oracle's property management system, used by hotel groups and many independent full-service hotels. For a hotel with meeting rooms and a ballroom, it is where the guest rooms live.
The event side often lives elsewhere: in an inbox, a spreadsheet, or a separate sales tool. A planner asks whether forty rooms are free for a three-night conference, and the answer means opening OPERA, checking each room type night by night, and copying the result. The connection will read that picture from OPERA when the event record is opened and show it next to the meeting space. OPERA stays the source of truth for rooms.
And until the OPERA Cloud integration opens?
Someone checks the rooms in OPERA and copies the answer into the reply, which means a delay and, now and then, an outdated figure.
Inquiries, proposals, contracts, BEOs, scheduling, and invoicing already run in Joinways, whatever your PMS is.
Is the OPERA Cloud connection available?
Not yet. It opens hotel by hotel, through Oracle's integration platform. Mews, Apaleo, and Amenitiz are the property systems you can connect today.
Will Joinways write into OPERA?
No. The connection will be read-only: it will create no reservation or block and change no rate or inventory.
Which versions of OPERA are covered?
OPERA Cloud, through OHIP. OPERA 5 installed on the hotel's own servers is not covered.
Show 5 more questions
What will Joinways read from OPERA?
Room types with their names and capacities, rooms available per night, prices from the rate plan you choose, and the hotel's currency and time zone.
How will access be granted?
The hotel or the chain approves Joinways' access to its OPERA Cloud environment in Oracle's integration platform (OHIP). The credentials it issues are stored encrypted by Joinways and never shown again.
Are the prices shown with or without tax?
With tax when OPERA computes it. Many US hotels quote rates before tax: in that case the prices are shown before tax and marked as such.
Can I use Joinways before it opens?
Yes. Only the room availability shown in the event record's Accommodation block depends on the PMS, and everything else works now.
How do I let you know?
Tell us your hotel runs OPERA Cloud through the contact form. The first hotels to ask are the first to be connected.
