Before you start

What Claude can do in Joinways

Security and access
- The consent screen lists what Claude asks for: reading your workspace, and creating or updating records.
- Write access includes sending emails from your mailbox or a shared team mailbox, and deleting records such as proposals or tasks. Everything follows your role in the workspace: with Read-only, Claude only reads.
- Each approval covers one workspace and renews as long as Claude uses it. After 90 days without use, you approve again.
- Access stops if you leave the workspace or if the workspace is no longer on Pro or in trial.
- What Claude reads becomes part of your Claude conversation. The records themselves stay in Joinways.
What it does not do
- The consent screen does not offer a read-only switch: you approve what Claude asks for, or decline.
- It does not stay connected behind your back: Claude is listed in Settings > Developers > MCP > Connected apps, where the workspace owner or an admin can disconnect it.
- Access is not open-ended: after 90 days without use, Claude needs your approval again.
- It acts only when you ask Claude. It does not watch your workspace in the background.

An organizer sends a long brief: you ask Claude to compare it with your rooms and open dates. Claude answers from your real availability.

Claude drafts the proposal from the inquiry already in Joinways; you reread it, then send it, without retyping anything.

Before calling a client, you ask Claude where their event stands: status, open proposal, last emails. The answer comes from the event in Joinways.

Why connect Claude to Joinways?
Part of the work is often prepared in Claude: a first reply, reading a brief, a check before a call. Without access to Joinways, it works from whatever you last pasted; once connected, it reads the up-to-date inquiry and event.
The connector is simply the Joinways MCP server, listed in the Claude directory. You add it once, then Claude prepares its work from the data already in your workspace, and you keep the client relationship.
And without the Claude integration?
Every question means copying information from Joinways that is already out of date once pasted, and the next question means starting over.
The two tools stay separate: Claude cannot see what is in Joinways.
Where do I add Joinways in Claude?
The listing is https://claude.ai/directory/joinways. Add it from Claude, then sign in to Joinways when asked.
Does Claude store my venue data?
Claude queries Joinways through MCP each time you ask a question, and what it reads stays in your Claude conversation. Your data stays in your workspace, and access ends as soon as you disconnect Joinways.

Can Claude send a proposal or change a status?
Yes, if Claude asked for write access and you approved. The consent screen lists it. To stop, remove the connector in Claude.
Is this the same as ChatGPT?
It is the same server with a different client: ChatGPT has its own Joinways plugin, and both talk to mcp.joinways.app.
What if I already use Cursor or another MCP client?
They use the same address; the Claude directory is just a more direct route for people who work in Claude.
Can I disconnect Joinways?
Yes. Remove the Joinways connector in Claude, or ask the workspace owner or an admin to revoke Claude in Settings > Developers > MCP > Connected apps. Access also ends if you leave the workspace.
Can I connect more than one workspace?
Each approval covers one workspace, picked on the consent screen. To switch, remove the connector in Claude and connect again with the other workspace.
