Security and access
- The consent screen lists what ChatGPT asks for: reading your workspace, and creating or updating records.
- Write access includes sending emails from your mailbox or a shared team mailbox, and deleting records such as proposals or tasks. Everything follows your role in the workspace: with Read-only, ChatGPT only reads.
- Each approval covers one workspace and renews as long as ChatGPT uses it. After 90 days without use, you approve again.
- Access stops if you leave the workspace or if the workspace is no longer on Pro or in trial.
- What ChatGPT reads becomes part of your ChatGPT conversation. The records themselves stay in Joinways.
What it does not do
- The consent screen does not offer a read-only switch: you approve what ChatGPT asks for, or decline.
- It does not stay connected behind your back: ChatGPT is listed in Settings → Developers → MCP → Connected apps, where the workspace owner or an admin can disconnect it.
- Access is not open-ended: after 90 days without use, ChatGPT needs your approval again.
- It acts only when you ask ChatGPT. It does not watch your workspace in the background.

The connection starts in ChatGPT. Joinways only asks you to sign in and approve.

Sign in to Joinways
ChatGPT sends you to Joinways. You sign in with the account of the workspace to connect.

The consent screen lists what ChatGPT may read and write. Approve, and you return to ChatGPT.

Why connect ChatGPT to your venue software?
ChatGPT is already the place where a first draft happens. If it cannot see Joinways, the draft is built from whatever you pasted. Connected, it reads the request, the rooms, the prices you already stored.
The plugin is the Joinways MCP server, listed in ChatGPT. You add it once and keep the client relationship: ChatGPT prepares, and you send.
And without the ChatGPT plugin?
You copy availability and prices from Joinways into the chat by hand, and the thread never sees the live record.
ChatGPT gives generic answers, and Joinways remains a separate tab it never sees.
