Quickstart Guide

The 3 onboarding steps: business information, venue setup and 14-day free trial activation.

Getting started

This guide walks you through Joinways' three-step onboarding. By the end, your workspace is ready to receive and manage event requests.

πŸ’‘ This setup takes about 2 minutes.

When you create a Joinways account, an onboarding wizard walks you through three steps to set up your workspace. It's the same flow as on the /onboarding page. It takes about 2 minutes.

Step 1 β€” Business information

Joinways asks for two pieces of information about your business:

  • Company name β€” required β€” it will appear on your quotes and invoices.
  • Logo β€” optional β€” you can add or change it later in settings.

These elements personalize your workspace and appear on all documents sent to your clients.

Step 2 β€” First venue setup

Next, you create your first venue β€” the physical establishment where you host events (castle, hotel, restaurant, event hall…).

Fields collected:

  • Venue name β€” the commercial name of the establishment.
  • Venue type β€” restaurant, hotel, castle, hall, unique space, etc.
  • Country β€” to localize your business.
  • Timezone β€” auto-detected from your browser.
  • Currency β€” used for your quotes and invoices (EUR, USD…).
πŸ’‘ The address, city and postal code are not asked during onboarding. You can complete them later in Settings > Venues > [your venue].

Step 3 β€” Free trial activation

Click the button to activate your 14-day trial. Joinways automatically creates demo data (sample leads, events, contacts) so you can explore the interface without starting from scratch.

You're then redirected to the Leads page of your workspace, ready to go.

What's next?

Onboarding is done, but a few extra steps will help you get the most out of Joinways. Here is the recommended setup order:

Your profile (personal settings)

  1. Connect your email (Gmail or Outlook) in Settings > Email Connections. This is personal to each team member β€” every user connects their own inbox to send and receive emails from Joinways.
πŸ’‘ Email connections are per-profile, not per-workspace. Each team member must connect their own email account.

Your workspace (shared settings)

  1. Sync a calendar (Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar) in Settings > Integrations > Calendars. Events created in Joinways automatically appear in your shared calendar.
  2. Connect your social channels (Instagram, WhatsApp) in Settings > Integrations > Sources. Incoming messages from these channels create leads automatically.
  3. Connect Stripe for invoicing in Settings > Integrations > Invoicing. Required to generate invoices and accept online payments (Pro plan).
  4. Set up your quote templates in Settings > Venues > [venue] > Items. Add your menu items, packages and pricing so you can quickly build quotes.
  5. Complete your venue info in Settings > Venues (address, photos, description). This information appears on public pages and documents.
  6. Create your spaces (rooms, terraces, gardens) in Settings > Venues > [venue] > Spaces.
  7. Invite your teammates in Settings > Members.

Troubleshooting common setup issues

I'm not receiving the confirmation email?

Check your spam folder. If you're using a professional email, your IT admin may need to whitelist Joinways emails. Try resending the confirmation email from the login page.

The onboarding doesn't start after registration?

Close the tab and log back into Joinways. The setup wizard should appear automatically. If the issue persists, contact support.

After getting started

Once onboarding is complete, here are your recommended next steps to become fully operational.

  • Connect your email (Gmail or Outlook) to centralize communications
  • Create your first test event to explore the interface
  • Invite a colleague to test team collaboration
  • Explore the Reports section to understand available metrics
πŸ’‘ Give yourself 30 minutes to freely explore the interface β€” most users are self-sufficient after this discovery phase.

Best practices

Complete the full onboarding within your first week. The sooner your workspace is configured (venues, integrations, team members), the faster you'll start converting leads into confirmed events.

πŸ’‘ Follow the recommended setup order: workspace first, then integrations, then invite your team. This way, everything is ready when your colleagues join.
